March 2019 Public Meetings

On March 26th and 27th, 2019, California State Parks held public meetings in Ridgecrest and Lancaster to discuss the revision of the General Plan for Red Rock Canyon State Park.

At these open-house style meetings, preliminary planning concepts for the update to the General Plan were displayed, and feedback was solicited from interested stakeholders and agencies. Attendees visited display stations, reviewed materials that describe the draft concepts, provided input, and asked questions.

The information packet provided at the General Plan Revision Preliminary Planning Concepts Meetings, which includes the preliminary concept maps, can be downloaded here.

The public comment period on the Preliminary Planning Concepts is now closed. Comments on the preliminary planning concepts were accepted through August 1, 2019.

Comments are now being evaluated and the Preferred General Plan Concept is being prepared. Public meetings on the Preferred General Plan Concept will be held in fall 2019.
