Red Rock Canyon State Park Network Story Map Tool
State Parks has developed the Red Rock Canyon State Park Route Network Story Map as a tool to help guide the general plan process. This tool depicts the existing route network and depicts how the route network has changed since 1994, when 20,500 acres of California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA) lands were transferred through the California Desert Protection Act. It also depicts how the route network has changed as a result of resource management actions.
Each tab has a different focus and shows changes to the route network over time. More detail on each tab is provided below:
This tab shows changes to roads (motorized routes) and trails (non-motorized routes) that occurred in 2006 through a sustainability survey. It also shows recent changes due to resource management closures. Click on the title, “2006 Route Sustainability Survey” and “Recent Changes” to view.
